On a cold, windy Saturday morning at Lakewood High School Camden took on the Sumter Gamecocks. The game started very fast for Sumter as the looked to try and score an early goal. Sumter was able to find the back of the net against Chance King in the first ten minutes of the game. From then till half time Chance King and the Camden defensive line kept Sumter form scoring. Chance did have his work cut out for him in the first half where he made several big saves to keep his team in the game. On the other end of the field the Camden attack could not find their rhythm as they did the night before. Neal Blank had a good opportunity to score form a cross sent in my Alessandro Magana but was unable to convert on the opportunity. Camden went in to half time trailing 1-0 to Sumter. To start the second half Camden looked to have a little energy and apply a little pressure on Sumter but was able to convert those opportunities. Again Chance came up big for Camden in goal as he made some great saves to keep his team in the game. It wasn’t until the last fifteen to ten minutes of the game that Sumter was able to catch the Camden defense asleep and put away the last two goals of the game. The game ended 3-0 with Sumter advancing to final against the host Lakewood. The next Camden played was for 3rd place against the North Central Knights.
