In the first meeting of both programs Camden was able to best North Central Knights on Saturday afternoon. There was a lot of pride behind this game as it had several players on the Knights team that were former players at Camden a few years ago before the Knights started their program. Also, Knights head coach Jesus Martinez was a coach for the Camden boys soccer program then as well. The game start very fast with Camden looking to take it to the Knights. Within the first ten minutes of the game the Bulldogs were able to find the back of the net through a pass from Alessandro Magana to Neal Blank for a goal. Later in the game Camden was awarded a penalty that Alessandro was able to convert for the second goal of the game. The third goal of the first half was scored on an individual effort of Van Blank. Freshman striker TJ Troublefield was sub in for Neal Blank towards the end of the first half and was able to open up his varsity account with the forth goal of the game on a very nice shot on the edge of the 18 yard box. Knights were able to apply pressure on the Bulldogs in the first half of play. The Bulldogs defense and senior goalkeeper Chance King were able to see it of to 4-0 at half time though. To start the second half of play the Bulldogs began with the same pressure as the applied to the Knights in the first half of game. Camden was awarded a corner where Alessandro served it to Senior Dru Montgomery who was able to steer the ball in for his first ever varsity goal. Later on in the game Van Blank was assisted by older brother Neal Blank for the sixth goal of the game. In the last ten minutes of the game Brady Anderson was able to find the back of the net on a miscommunication between Knights goalkeeper and back line. Much to the Knights efforts throughout the game they were able to find the back of the net towards the end of the game. For this being a second year program that the Knights have. They look to be a very good team with plenty of talent of the field and coached by a very good man as well. I look forward to future games against this program and to see their development over the years.
