Running on a tough, hilly course through the woods in Chester County, the Lady Bulldogs once again dealt with hot, humid conditions as they competed in a meet hosted by Great Falls High School on Tuesday afternoon. The Girls’ Cross Country team ran hard to achieve a second-place finish in a field of eight teams, with an overall score of 70, coming in behind Ben Lippen (37). Camden was followed by Buford (86), York Prep (104), Lewisville (121), Governor’s School (143), Great Falls (171), and Gray Collegiate (201). Leading the Lady Bulldogs to their second-place finish and a sixth-place finish overall was Julia Keen with a time of 24:28. Mell Boucher (25:12, 10th overall), Heather Woolard (26:28, 13th overall), Megan Goodrich (26:59, 17th overall), and Mary Blanks (28:22, 24th overall), completed the top five for the Lady Bulldogs. Reaching a personal best on the rugged course was seventh grader Mary Blanks. The Lady Bulldogs will run again on Tuesday, October 3rd, when they will compete in a meet at Lugoff-Elgin High School. Congratulations to Mark Chickering’s Lady Bulldogs on their second place finish in Great Falls! Best of luck as they travel to LE this next week.
