Heat and humidity once again met the Camden Boys’ Cross Country team as they traveled to Great Falls Tuesday afternoon for their most recent competition. Facing a tough, hilly course through woody terrain, the Bulldogs claimed their third win of the season with five runners placing in the top ten. Jerry Stokes’ Bulldogs won the nine-team competition with the top score of 27, followed by Governor’s School (52), Ben Lippen (72), York Prep (160), Buford (163), Great Falls (174), Lewisville (176), Richard Winn (203), and Gray Collegiate (207). Garrett Lawson led Camden to their first place finish with a time of 18:30, coming in second-place overall. Teammates Sam Messinides (19:28, 4th place overall), Ben Battiata (19:40, 5th place overall), KP Cassidy (19:40, 6th place overall), and Grant Maree (19:55, 10th place overall) round out the top five for the Bulldogs. Also finishing with a time under 20 minutes, which was good for an 11th place finish overall, was Jacob Hann (19:55). Reaching his personal best of 29:46 during the run at Great Falls was seventh grader Bo Norred. The Boys’ Cross Country team will travel to Lugoff-Elgin High School on Tuesday, October 3rd, for their next meet. Congratulations to the Bulldogs for their third win of the season!
